Jigsaw Villa (a.k.a. puzzle heaven)

This week's post is a little late, yes (sorry everyone), but it's been a journey. Very stressful times here in Casa Jumber as we still endeavor to sort out our visa options. Yes, still.

In the meantime though, I'll tell you a little bit about my new favorite store in Bangkok - Jigsaw Villa. I've now done an embarrassing amount of puzzles here. I've always been a puzzle-lover, but it's been a lot even for me at this point. I've been really enjoying listening to audiobooks as I do it them. It makes me feel like I'm being twice as smart or something.

Shortly after moving here, I looked up places to get puzzles and found a place on Google Maps called Jigsaw Villa. It had great reviews and pictures of hundreds of puzzles. It's a bit far though, which is why it's taken us so long to get to it. But last weekend we thought we'd explore a little bit. Everything but this place ended up being a bust. It really didn't disappoint. We took a car there and walking up to it, it doesn't look like much. It's in the middle of a neighborhood with absolutely nothing else in it but people's homes. But the sign tells you you're in the right place. A super old man came and opened the gate for us, making me wonder if they had just opened despite their hours stating they had opened much earlier than our arrival. Turns out, they do most of their business online, so they don't get many visitors.

But we walk in and there are two rooms FULL of puzzles. A table with kids puzzles. Shelves of puzzles with plastic pieces, cardboard pieces, fun cartoony puzzles, animal puzzles, monster puzzles, chalkboard sign puzzles. They had a puzzle that was 67,000 pieces. No that is not a typo. Take that in. That's a 6-7 with three 0s behind it. They also were super smart in that they put out solved puzzles so you could check out the pieces. Doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but for other puzzle lovers who may have been burned with shitty puzzle pieces, you'll know what I mean. I had to make a rule that I could only buy a certain number of puzzles because honestly, if I were more fiscally irresponsible, I might have just said I'd take one of each.

Anyway, welcome to my new obsession. If you have a hard time finding me at any point, there's a distinct chance I might be here.
